The Longman Anthology of World Literature by Women: 1875-1975 (Longman Series in College Composition & Communication)
Holy shit I underestimated how many writers are in this thing. Best I can do is post a list of the names encountered every fifty pages (not even hyperlinked cause I don't trust GRAmazon's AI collection development to know anything about any author worth knowing about these days).

A silver lining of these close packed pages is you can go, 'Yeah I just read half a dozen rather well known novellas in a single anthology nbd'.

Black Water: The Book of Fantastic Literature
Didn't think an anthology with this level of literary pretension would include a portrait of a massive size kink, but assumptions make an ass and all that jazz.

The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida
Don't be a sell-out like your dad, you say, upping the ante and winning the pot. If making the boy who loves you walk away in tears is a victory.

I could be annoyed by a previous reader having corrected this book's various mathematical errors in pen, but hey...they haven't been wrong so far.

In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror, and an American Family in Hitler's Berlin
No mention of legalized segregation of African Americans in the US possibly influencing the US ambassador's "objectivity" regarding Germany's legalizing antisemitism in 1933, eh?

It's an odd feeling, reading someone rattle off five titles of an author and realizing only in the aftermath that you've read four of them.

Mishima: A Vision of the Void
I have to wonder how a public library stuck in a temperate tourist trap of a WASP city ended up with a copy of this that it hasn't successfully weeded yet.

Scarcity: Why Having Too Little Means So Much
Showing up to work while sick is not at all like being a good parent or treating your coworkers with respect or dutifully attending job training. The book has some credible consistency, but the attitude towards human health (especially in regards to scientific analyses of human health, such as of the true value of dieting or the realities of how disease spreads) is at times abysmal.

Nothing like switching from comparing your entire collection to another user's to comparing only the works by people of color and watching the user's average rating drop 2-3 stars.

The Faery Reel: Tales from the Twilight Realm
You ever read something so poorly written that you can feel yourself losing brain cells as you go along? And here I had been thinking previous to this that I was glad that patrons were checking out this author's latest work. Christ.

A very effective way of excluding someone from being in the public sphere, let alone participating in it on equal terms, is to deny the person access to toilets in that sphere.

Lorna Doone: A Romance of Exmoor
Tells you something about a book, printed in 1930 and inscribed by a former owner in 1958, that this page and the next were still uncut, and none of it, in my estimation, good.
