The 5th Vampire Chronicle seems a bit disjointed, as if Anne Rice wove two stories together, with Lestat as the common denominator. Yet from the time Memnoch takes Lestat for a ride to Heaven, different points in time after the Creation, historical events, including the Crucifixion, it really isn't a story about Lestat. Instead, it's the Devil's story, looking for sympathy in his timeless conflict with God.
