There, he had said it. He desired the boy.
Good God, he was losing his mind, he realized with dismay. He had no desire to be with a man. He did, however, fervently wish that Charles were a woman.

He had always had a weakness for soft curves, and the girl had an excess of those. She was who he truly was reacting to when he touched her brother.

"Speak for yourself," Xaden says, swinging his leg over and dismounting next to me. "Aretia is the second most beautiful thing I've ever seen." He hands me his reins, turning those gorgeous, gold-flecked onyx eyes into weapons capable of melting the underwear straight off my body as he looks up at me. "And my home is the first."

He moves faster than I've ever seen, and in a blink, his hands are full of my ass and I'm up against his chest. "Stop me if I cross the line."
That's the only warning he gives before his mouth is on mine.

"He can't touch me." I lift his hand and press a kiss to the center of his callused palm before putting it back above my heart and holding it there. "This will only ever be yours. You could leave me or even meet Malek, and it still would be. I've made my peace with knowing there's no getting over you."

"I'm jealous of the armor that holds you when I can't, the sheets on your bed that caress your skin every night, and the blades that feel your hands. So, when the prince of our realm walks into my classroom and starts talking to the woman I love with what can only be considered intense familiarity, and then has the audacity to ask her out right in front of me, naturally, I'm going to get jealous."

"I was with Halden years ago."
"Yeah, I picked up on that." His brow knits as he nods. "I picked up on a lot of things he was thinking."
I blink. "That's not how your signet-"
"Did you love him?" he repeats.
"Holy shit." My hands fall from his jacket. "You're actually jealous."
"Yes, love, I'm jealous."

"I am yours and you are mine, and there's no law or rule in this world or the next that will change that."

Need races through my veins like flame, igniting every nerve ending, then flaring bright as his teeth graze the tip of my breast through the fabric of my nightdress.
I whimper and lace my fingers behind his neck. Holy shit do I need this man.
"That's one of my favorite sounds."

"I love you so much it hurts." I slide my hands down the warm, bare skin of his chest, my fingertips ghosting the scar over his heart and down to the rigid lines of his stomach.
He draws a sharp breath through his teeth. "Good, because that's exactly how I love you, too."

"I hate everything in this world but you," I tell her. "You make everything good, and when I'm with you, I'm not sad or alone. I love you, and I hope you know that. Never forget it."

She was afraid, but she knew now: fear usually meant you were standing on the edge of something new, something self-altering, something potentially good. Fear was not something she would shy away from ever again.

"What were you going to say, love?" he whispered, smiling crookedly as he ran a hand down her soft cheek.
Her eyes widened with something like... hope? Before it vanished and was replaced with realization. "Oh," she whispered. "You heard my lie to the knights about us being married? That's why you—"
"What?" He tilted his head, the dream no longer making sense.

"Sir, they think-"
"Shhhh," he whispered, pulling her in for one more slow touch of their lips. She resisted for a moment before settling once more against his mouth and gripping his cheeks in her hands.
He thought he heard someone cough, which was quite rude of his subconscious, but he pulled back anyway and watched as her lips drifted closer, wanting to bring her back to him.

He'd never thought himself a man with a particularly good imagination, but the way she was holding on to him, sweet but fierce, and the passion behind her kisses... It ruined him.
How could the reality of kissing her possibly surpass the euphoria that was pumping through his veins at what his own imagination had conjured?

He tugged gently, nearly groaning when a gasp escaped her lips, and angled her head so he could taste her fully.
He licked at her lips, one of his hands coming down to her waist and squeezing, trying desperately to bring her closer. The small sounds she was making in the back of her throat nearly undid him.

It was comical to him that a trait he'd previously inwardly chuckled at was now something that was arousing him beyond belief. Enough that his eyes drifted shut and thoughts of gruesome, horrible things faded away.
If it's just a dream anyway...
He sat up quickly, arms whipping around her, fingers pulling lightly through the soft locks of her hair.

Trystan was dreaming.
Which surprised him, because he thought he'd lost the ability to dream ten short years ago. But here he was, having a dream, and it was a pleasant one.
He only saw Evie's face for a moment before he felt soft lips press to his. His imagination made her taste like vanilla.
Probably because of the ludicrous amount of vanilla drop candies the woman ate throughout the day.

He grabbed the chair closest to his desk and angled it slightly toward the window. Only because it looked nicer that way; it had nothing to do with the sun hitting it at just the right angle, causing sparks of light to glint in Sage's long black hair.
He just liked the chair there.
He resisted a deep sigh as his assistant sat down and the sun fell over her cheeks.
It was just a good spot for the chair.

The oceans would dry before I would cease wanting her. The winds would die away and the stars would fall from the sky, and still I would crave my Amy.

"You're what I wanted, Rast. Never doubt that. As long as you want me, we'll be together."

And that's why she's so happy. It's not that he's wild and dangerous. It's not that he's the baddest predator on the block. It's that he's so utterly devoted and in love with her. She's the center of his universe. He'd do anything for Claudia, and the sun rises and sets in her eyes when it comes to him.
And that's what makes me so envious and lonely all at once.

“Losing you will kill me. You are the only thing that saves me from madness. Without Emma, there is no Zohr. Zohr is lost. It does not matter that Azar thinks to come after you. I will protect you. It does not matter that you make me vulnerable.
My eyes make me vulnerable. My wings. My heart. My need to breathe. I would give them up before I gave up my mate.”

"And you know what else she is?"
Jealousy burns against the roof of my mouth. I grit my teeth and shake my head.
"She is not you, Jamie."

“I want to introduce you to every single person I've ever met as my wife. I want to travel back to Illinois with you for the holidays. I want the two of us to be on the same team when we play Pictionary with our families, and-" He pressed a firm kiss against my lips. "I want to give you the world, Jamie. Let me. Just let me, please."

“I want to go to work in the morning knowing that I'll see you at home every night. I want to be there when you have a terrible day at the hospital, and be the one who reminds you that you are a fantastic doctor.”

“You always managed to hold me accountable while never judging me. You're the only one who saw me not just for who I really was but also for what I could be, and... I want you. I want everything with you.”

"I actually have a boyfriend."
"Nice. He can fuck off."
"Marc."
"No, I'm serious. What's his name?"
"Shane."
"Shane can fuck right off."
I couldn't help laughing. Hated myself
quite a bit for it.
"Listen, Jamie, date us both. I can deal with that. And then choose the better guy." I huffed. "You seem awfully certain that I'd choose you."

"He doesn't deserve you. No one does."
No one. "What about you?"
"I deserve you least of all. But I want you the most. And I won't give up. The lengths I'm willing to go to ... One day, I'll show you."

"Honestly, ten inches is not that much."
A dark eyebrow lifts.
I realize why after a beat and instantly
