Unfortunately, a lot more of the same: Endless well-written chapters of people discussing politics. Let‘s see if the second half picks up on some action.

This is an unexpected crossover of Hitchhiker and the Fifth Element. Hilarious.

Solid prose up to now. Hannah averages around 4.45 across her most-read novels; let's see if this book holds its own.

An Oxford graduate tries to walk across Afghanistan just after 9/11. What could possibly go wrong? Looking forward to how Rory, whom I‘ve learned to like on The Rest is Politics, faced this epic adventure.

Some explanations of yesterday‘s fiasco:

(1) Counties with a lower percentage of graduates overwhelmingly voted for GOP.

(2) The bias against female candidates is not a white issue only.

(3) 107 days of campaigning just wont cut it.

(4) Losing the narrative on economic difficulties will lose you the White House, independent of your candidate‘s integrity.

Democrats, get to work.

„Which is how it came to pass that in 2009, a year after the Kyoto Protocol finally went into full effect, the United States was only one of five nations not party to the agreement. The other four, in no particular order, were Andorra, Vatican City, Taiwan, and Afghanistan (which had the reasonable excuse of having been shattered by thirty years of war).“

November 5th is drawing near and it is the perfect time for this memoir!

„I remember the next morning as well, when after almost no sleep I went down to Central Station to shake hands with commuters as they headed for work. A gentle snow had begun to fall, and as people recognized me and shook my hand, they all seemed to wear the same smile - as if we had done something surprising together“.
