I am an English Teacher and will be moving room this year, new grade, new school. I am asking for help in making the school year great for my students.

Here is my thought for the day -

Why can't they put the first book on the free books sales? I am still going to get the books that are there, but I am more inclined to buy a full series once I have read the first book. I might grab the second book in a series when it's free, but I can't promise I will read it.

So I am teaching for the first time. I will be getting a classroom set up for the year. My room will need so much. I am teaching English 1, so I am hoping to get books and the like for my classroom.

I am in a reading slump. I start books and can't get engaged in them. I don't add them to my DNF list, I just take them off my reading list. I will have to go back later and decide if I will actually read them.

Do any of you have this problem?

I always feel terrible when I put a book on the DNF list I have. I try so hard to finish a book, and sometimes I will push myself to try harder. I have also gone back later and tried again. This year is shaping up to have a list like last year with DNF books.

The last couple of books I read have made me cry, I need something that is not so full of the emotions.

Have you ever started a book and had high hopes, get about 50% in and just can't seem to make yourself read it?

I always wonder what makes someone pick the book they are reading. Is it the title? Is it the cover? Is it the blurb on the back? What makes you pick your books?

There are never enough hours in the day to read as much as I would like.
