The book weirdly just glossed right over the transition to DARPA... like, oh by this time it had become DARPA. Ah what.?

At this stage I'm finding the book really dry. It was interesting for a time. But wow, I read a section and remember almost nothing I've read. I can't keep track of who is who, what organization is what, why acronym stands for what university. etc. So I'm glossing over and remembering nothing now

Jeez. Ive read a good amount of old SF and I hate to say this but this book is just cringe worthy the way it is written. This was purported to be one of his good works from earlier on and i am just astounded at the poor, dated dialogue, nonsense plot and the dreadful narrative. It has the very odd moment where it is interesting for a second, but wow... I really thought id enjoy this one more. I struggle page by page.

Having a hard time maintaining interest in the because of the writing style, weird phrases and just general poor writing quality. Some of the ideas are definitely neat for 1951 though.
