Ooooh. Do I smell the beginnings of love in the air? *eyebrow wiggle*

Sooo, it turns out my mom and dad didn't have any books they wanted to buy so I got to use all of the Books-A-Million gift cards our family got us for Christmas! I did go over the card(s) amount a little bit, but after some careful calculating and finding a $10 coupon online I managed to get 7 new books I really wanted for only $11 out-of-pocket. That was a good day of book power-shopping! \o/ *feels frugal* ;)

I actually pictured her carrying a chair over her head for a second. *facepalm*

Goodreads, why aren't you telling me when a book on my shelf has a giveaway anymore? Sometimes you do and sometimes you don't but I want to know every time because FREE BOOKS!

Interesting so far, I guess. I haven't yet felt the need to yell at any characters for treating a horse badly, anyway, so that's a good sign. Kinds curious what Maggie could have done to get herself put in jail. She doesn't exactly read like a criminal.

Reading this because my aunt gave it to me a couple years ago and I thought it was about time I got around to it. When I was younger I gravitated to books involving horses, and while I still like horses, my tastes have grown and evolved, so I can't honestly say I'm "excited" to read this. But I figure it's good for me to challenge myself to read new things from time to time and maybe I'll be surprised and like it.

I read the physical copy of this year's ago, but now I'must istening to the audiobook with Juliet Stevenson as narrator, as recommended by my Goodreads friend, Jill. :) It's been long enough I'd say I don't remember a lot about the story so I'm looking forward to rediscovering it.
