Probably my new favorite 101 Church history book, with an emphasis on the lineage of emphasis on the internal work of the heart in the first millennium of Christianity, the thing the West is most missing and most hungry for after a millennia of emphasizing dogmas, emotions, and rules, and now looking to other Eastern religions rather than back to the historical Christian family.
