This is gorgeous but hard work. Also, giving basically every generation the same first name is just... Great.

I generally love Andy Serkis' narration! However, I can't state enough how much I HATE his rendition of the songs. His voice isn't great, a bit pitchy and especially Tom Bombadil just grates my brain and doesn't put me in the right frame of mind for sleep. Pity.

I think this might be the first Dutch book I've read in ... 15 years. But I love my book group so I'm doing this for them.

Want to end the year on a high note

I'm learning so many things about trees. I now am a person who says: Hey did you know this about trees? I friggin' love it.

So much pointless death. Why.

The premise is intriguing, but the references to mythology very on the nose if you were brought up on that stuff. The writing is really unnecessarily choppy and convoluted. I'm disappointed so far.

Listening to the audiobook narrated by Kate Winslet. She has a really lovely reading voice.

Phoo this book could use a shitload of trigger warnings. Quite heavy at times when you're feeling a bit mentally wobbly at times.
