Going down a Harlem Renaissance rabbit hole this year. And this one is the perfect start! Really feel like a fly on the wall as these characters show the true inner workings and lifestyle of the said era. Wasn’t all milk and honey, but the reality is even more beautiful than what’s generally portrayed.

Finally got my hands on this, So ready to tap in.

Get bored here and there. I'm going to set it to the side for about 2 months then pick up where i left off.

never thought i'd grow to despise the design of my stove top. I already hated public bathroom faucet design though, glad to know im not alone

I just gave the book back to the person i burrowed it from. It was boring as hell. I just saw the name and thought I'd finally dabble in the work of one of the "greats". Tired as hell after reading 13 pages of that garbage.

Powerful mind, body, and spirit. He was willing to stand for what he believed in even if it meant absolute death. I wish this was what was taught in school rather than Martin Luther King Jr. Teaching us to stand up against the oppressors rather than plead for acceptance. Long live huey!

I great read especially around this time in my life with everything that's going on in this country.
