I almost stopped reading because it was too much sad shit for me to read about. Almost like unnecessary amount... like he wants to make it vivid as hell for the reader all his trauma. Got it. Now he's talking about racism.

My mom gave this to me 10 years ago... at the time I was two years in my undergrad. Since then I've gone on to have some chaos in my life, which took my linear progressive career into a completely other direction. Who knows if it'll work out, but I am attempting to do it and I like the perspective this book offers thus far. Maybe should've read it 10 years ago!

now I understand why she hates her uncle so much... she pretty much equates Donald's viciousness with the death of her father. very sad. and her grandfather sounds like a real cold blooded business man...

so far the book is about how affection and connection is a need equivalent to hunger... I think a book about how important connection is can get boring, might skip to the six steps.

Very interesting view of what it means to be manic depressive. I think he is trying to just say these reactions aren't completely abnormal... so far quite interesting if you're interested in the subject.
