..ok, in Maps of Meanings, Peterson addresses that terror (consciously fearing of being in chaos or unknown) is a sure way to make people move towards better or something. But as Harrison quoting Aristotle here, indeed, an absolute ruler would appear as a stronger figure to his subjects if he is "δεισιδαιμονία" but only must without fatuity. So scare someone's sht out by emphasizing all his uselessness...emm.

Before starting Jung's hulk note on Zarathustra, I can't help but want to devour this because just watched Saint Seiya Legend of Sanctuary (2014) with all hype, and can't even think about that vulgar and low Netflix adaption of this series coming this summer. And now just after introduction and first three pages of the main body, I already can't breathe....my goddess by Grace of Athena!!!

I gotta say, just like to try the cosmetic brand from YouTube beauty gurus is not a wise choice, so does, perhaps, a YouTube philosopher's book. Geez. This one, by far reminds me of an irritating book introducing Austria School, which I abandoned half way. Being down to the earthly practical and all-tone scientific is a sin to certain standards if you don't do it right when writing.

Chill. Hector won’t go back to Andromache but to his narcissism, Celebrimbor and Talion won’t remarry, Camus Aquarius won’t deal his burning feelings towards Hyōga Cygnus. German knocked out in group stage. A rockstar personality has a higher risk out there to be far from the best. Chill.

I still don't see what is there exclusively belonging to Dr. Peterson himself. So far so many tons of Jung, Nietzsche and William Blake, but he's really good at interpretation. I mean, really really good at it.

And he's a Templar, no doubt. I mean, clean up the room indeed helps to ameliorate the scratching burn of immediate chaos and put things into order. I remember Erich Fromm once mentioned that people pour their love into the one who represents their ideal or protects their order, celebrities do that. But a rock-star of archetypal narratives? That's getting meta. Good try. I'd say he's quite ambitious by some degree.

One thing I don't like about Jordan Peterson is that, uhm, idk but possibly quite common for the Jungian psychologists, he shies away from LOTS of troubling parts, like the narcissism in parentry, or evil being a necessity for the dynamics of self and go spontaneously. Without being deep I can't see how he can shove virtue into people's nutshell brain. I mean, Master Peterson, are we going to talk about chaos or not?

To read how Finley is ruminating on the topic if the Iliad and Odysseus is "true" and whether or not the ancient Greeks can distinguish it, man, is torturing. I mean, come on, you already pointed out the divine knowledge and poetry is connected, and the ancient world is really different from us! How the heck he missed the point the psychological difference should be counted as well??

"Homer was so far from Socrates that he was not even cognizant of man as an integrated psychic whole. Nevertheless, Homer occupies the first stage in the history of Greek control over its myths; his poems [...] have flashes of something else, of a genius for ordering the world. hind it. [...]For history, as Jacob Burckhardt remarked, is the one field of study in which one cannot begin at the beginning."

They, if talking about Greeks as a general mass concept of ancient culture, definitely don't know all the "allegory, representation of unconsciousness" understanding, some brilliant minds might already have hold the glimpse of such insight but definitely not the mass population burdening the culture. A weird paragraph.

...wait, Greeks are way too civilized to literately believe that Zeus would empregnate Leda by turning into a Swam?? Uhmmmm, really?? Earthquakes are still served as bad omen sent by gods even during the Peloponnesian War when Spartan court tried to make decisions, a total eclipse during Sicilian Expedition scared the Athenians' shit out as a sign of godly punishment. So, well, you tell me. *shrug

ok, so here we are, they are not Greeks from the beginning but slowly became Greeks, like Angola and Saxons in Britain being not Englishmen initially but were to become Englishmen one day. No culture concept should be taken for granted, procedures are slow and combined by millions events of individual with not pre-design, big names and titles r surely later, if not alien, things.
Looks nice so far. Please continue.

No, I started to have a feeling behind all the defensive and non-vigorous strategy which wished to "convince" Sparta they can neither win nor destroy Athen, Pericles maybe in some degree as well didn't want to fight Achidamus II, his respected ξενία.
....No.

Germans do love Frederick the Great but I think here Delbrvck omitted a thing, Frederick didn't only bide his time, he did so while fed on his enemy's captured land Silesia by new method of revenue (*Sun Tzu approved.gif*), which in fact annoyed Empress Maria Theresa greatly and Haugwitz, a minister, who observed this and later prompted taxation reform. Brunt may be right when he says that the Corinthians made thesuggestion because "they were more exposed to the sophistic Aufklärung than the majority of the Peloponnesians."
-
Sophistic Aufklärung... Germans just never go easy when they go to criticism. But considering the major Temple of Corinth belonged to Aphrodite, it somehow makes sense on y they r vulnerable to it and result disastrous.

idk but Boeotian membership to the Peloponnesian League somehow reminds me of Rhode Island during American Revolution.
[Everytime]
Sparta: Hey, we want a campaign!
Everybody else: Aye aye!
Boeotian: Nein.

[Every time]
Congress: We got to do something to those British!
Everybody else: OK OK!
Rhode Island: No.

[67]...we believe... that the great world can get along without being interpreted. But how do we assign meaning? ...The forms we use for assigning meaning are historical categories that reach back into the mists of time...From whatever side we approach this question, everywhere we find ourselves confronted with the history of language, with images and motifs that lead straight back to the primitive wonder-world.

[66] Human interpretation fails, for a turbulent life-situation, a time of collapse...Only when all props and crutches are broken, and no...cover even the slightest hope of security, does it become possible for us to experience an archetype that up till then had lain hidden behind the meaningful nonsense played out by the anima. This is the archetype of meaning, just as the anima is the archetype of life itself.
