This book took a turn I wasn't expecting.

I know some people didn't like Evie but I'm really enjoying her. Which is funny cause I usually don't like main female characters in YA. But she's a lot different than most female mc's i'm used to.

I hate earthquakes with a passion! We just had one right now. It was small but still I always get a heart attack waiting to see if its gonna turn into the big one. We had quite a few this year and it's worrying me. Well, living on the San Andreas fault line isn't boring that's for sure.

I know a lot of people didn't like the slang in this book, but so far I don't have a problem with it. I actually like it. Maybe I have The Great Gatsby to thank for my familiarity with the 20s slang?

This book is seriously depressing, with no prospect of things getting better.
