Mark Reynolds is on page 38 of 64 of Independence of India and Pakistan
Obviously a book for young readers, but lots of good basic information. I’d like to find out more about Surendranath (“Surrender Not”) Banerjee.

Penetrating analysis of the race relations in the Caribbean as of the latter half of the 20th century, and how they got that way.

Mark Reynolds is on page 114 of 224 of The Grandmaster: Magnus Carlsen and the Match That Made Chess Great Again
So far - an interesting take from a non chessplayer. Many reviewers have been disappointed that it's not a game-by-game analysis of the match. No, he uses the match as a catalyst, and looks at a much broader picture. However, it does read like the magazine article that it originally was.

Mark Reynolds is on page 83 of 133 of The Anti-Nuclear Handbook
So far it’s quite the political polemic. It’s definitely from the 1970s where being against nuclear (fission) plants was all the rage.

A truly wonderful book! You can learn not only the history of cosmology (at least up to 1990), but also the deepest thoughts and feelings of these cosmologists - some of the most brilliant and imaginative minds ever.

Mark Reynolds is on page 4 of 398 of Statistical Physics: Berkeley Physics Course, Vol. 5
This is the one book from my undergraduate career that I sold back. I didn't like it at all. But now I'm going to be teaching this course. I'm going to use a different book, but I'd like to try and see why I disliked it so much. So I thought I'd re-read it and form a new opinion.

Mark Reynolds is on page 10 of 212 of Tim in Powers of Ten: Natural Phenomena and Their Timescales
Breaking time up into powers of ten is much less interesting than the spatial scale. Their choice of `events' that take a certain amount of time seem to be fairly random, and there's no overarching theme. I guess that's just the nature of time. For me, not worth reading.
