re-reading this & writing lil notes along the way to give to my friend as an engagement present. we loved this book and its love story when we were younger... though I may end up finding it insufferable as an adult.

Bri (readingknitter) is on page 96 of 192 of The Reptile Room (A Series of Unfortunate Events, #2)
Regarding death of a loved one, "And yet it is always a surprise when it happens to someone you know. It is like walking up the stairs to your bedroom in the dark, and thinking there is one more stair than there is. Your foot falls down, through the air, and there is a sickly moment of dark surprise as you try and readjust the way you thought of things."
