Listening to the audiobook. Not sure I'm feeling this one. Shame really, I've always enjoyed Matthew Reilly's books as and exciting form of escapism. I'll persist a bit longer, not sure if it's the narrator or the story.

This is... I'm not entirely sure. I love Jack West Jr., but the 4th book was majorly WTF and I think this one might be heading in that direction too. I mean they're not exactly grounded in reality in the first place, but the 4th was wildly different (to me) from the first three.

Vik is starting Hard Landing (Dan Shepherd, #1)
Don't really know what's going on. I think the main character is actually Dan Shepherd but he's not called that at the moment? Undercover? I thought there'd at least be a set up for the undercover thing rather than launching straight into it.

Vik is starting The Greatest Knight (William Marshal, #2)
Second time I've started this, but I'm listening to it this time so I might have more luck. Also relevant to my hopeful thesis topic, although this is a fictionalised account of William Marshal and his tourneying days.

I'm onto the less interesting methods of torture AND for the most part this book draws from 16-18th century sources, so I don't know why it's called "Medieval" Punishments...
