I think I've run out of steam with my HP reread...

really enjoying this so far

so my first thought upon Drakenfeld thinking the bishop was "too pure" is that he was into kids and everyone either doesn't know or is covering it up because they don't want the Sun Chamber involved. After all, the king in the previous book was into his own sister, so the author isn't above going down that sort of path.

I did not see that twist coming. Poor Barak is reaching the end of his tether with Shardlake's bullheadedness.

still waiting in hope someone will die horrifically soon... it's still good, but it's got nothing on my two favourites - Dark Fire and Revelation.

I can only assume someone is going to end up murdered at some point, because the premise doesn't so far sound as intriguing as the previous four books. Plus, it is a monster of a book.

I like it so far, but there's something about the descriptive language of what the characters think and feel that I find a bit jarring.

I really love this series. I bet I'm totally wrong in thinking Guy's apprentice is behind all that's happening. I haven't been right yet with my guesses in Shardlake mysteries.

Nearly a third read already. Oops.
