The writing is fine but the cheese level of the romantasy is 🙄🙄. It's not the worst. It's just cliche.

Loving this even more on reread. Not bothered by the time skips this time and the mystery glimpses early on are 👌

There's also a lot of repetition in this book. Maybe reiteration is a better word for it. "Harsh work, as I say, but we had done worse before. Everyone one of us had done worse." I get it. You're "bad" guys who've done "bad" things.

So far it feels very "grimdark is cool now so let's swear and kill people because that's grim... dark..." *eyeroll*

Confession time. I started on Brandon Sanderson's books with the Way of Kings. Please don't burn me alive. I bought this trilogy soon after finishing them, but never got to reading it. I'm blazing through it now.
