I wish American, mainly white, authors would - at the very last - mention the atrocities faced by Muslim, Christian, Jewish, etc. Arabs and Asians after 9 11. They always write so tragically about the American (again, mostly white) lives lost to the event then gloss over everything that happened to people of colour as a result, especially in the ME. I don’t care if your bestie perished when innocent poc did more.

I’m intrigued but also… not? It’s a strange juxtaposition. The story is compelling enough but I’m not excited about the next bit of information as I should be although I do want to keep going. Not going to compare this one to the author’s other book buuuuut 😬
