My heart aches for both of the sisters. Leigh blames herself and it’s a relentless burden, and Callie can’t escape her addiction. It’s a whirlwind of a relationship, constantly filled with grief and sadness for what could have been if the circumstances of their present hadn’t been dictated by their pasts.

I know the author’s books are independently published, but I wish someone in her professional circle would tell her about the excessiveness of adverbs which plague her work. Every verb does not need a descriptor. Context clues are a thing. It’s annoying to be pulled out of a chapter multiple times because all the characters are completing actions “softly” or “loudly.”

The author describes the hair attributes of her female protagonists exactly the same way in all the books I’ve read of hers thus far: “long, dark, wavy hair.” As someone with the same hair, I’m like — cool beans! This book is relatable on that front. But it gets soo repetitive of every girl has the same hair. I imagine them standing side by side like cut-and-paste Barbie dolls 👁️👄👁️

I usually find guys on the cover of books cringeworthy but this one’s really hot and completely my type haha let’s go Atticus!

Personally, I think Leigh should just drive a knife through Andrew’s throat 🤷‍♀️

This book sure does a great job at getting you to think that what Kellan did is okay. Psychologically speaking, I want to say there is probably a connection between his upbringing (or lack thereof) and his desire to hold onto Wavy. If I discussed this book with others, I’d probably be called a pedo-apologist, but I can’t shake the feeling that Kellan may be autistic or mentally disabled in some capacity.

This book is testing how many times I can throw up.

Genuine insanity is what I’m feeling.
