A weird setting and not Daniel Silva's normal writing or plot...just a little far fetched right now...maybe it'll turn around as it gets further into the story. So far ...not getting the normal interest he usually generates from me.

Finding the reading a little slow (for a Baldacci book) it seems more like a murder mystery and convoluted. As in all mysteries, I have a feeling who did it and waiting for the end...

Not really liking the jumping from past to present throughout the first part of the book. To me, these things should be addressed in the prologue of the book and we go from there.

As Toni said in one of the reviews "The highly descriptive writing style is quite exhausting to read"...that is one of the reasons I set this book down often!!!

Exciting book so far but ...well, there are always things we do not like and, without revealing parts of the book, let me just say that this is another book that introduces a horror against Sigma and I am anxiously awaiting to see how Rollins deals with this development.

A huge introduction but Rollins' writing is something that captures the inquisitive nature of the reader. Now to set the book aside for the night and dwell on some of the though provoking ideas he brings forth....love books that make you think...don't you think? lol

Book started out with me wondering what I had got myself into. Lots of dreary details, that given my background, seemed obvious. As I got further and further into this book, I found I have a hard time putting it down. Mayer is doing an excellent job in captivating all types of audience backgrounds. Don't let the glossary at the beginning stop you from reading the book...at least so far.

Well, struggling a little with this book. I get the feeling that Griffin is trying to paint his character with the brush of his more famous (with me) series "Presidential Agent" and Maj Castillo...who was independently wealthy, used his money...I am seeing the similarities...yet Castillo was smarter and more suave in his approach to business. James Cronley talks before thinking & doesn't seem to have self confidence.

Boy I am on Chapter 4 and I am hating this book. I find there is so much minute detail that it is bogging me down in the weeds trying to enjoy the book but McNab is bringing up details that Stone is thinking about and doing that is just making the book...boring. I figure I could skip one or two chapters and not really have lost anything

I am finding this book so apropos given the present political climate in the USA and the discomfort around the world.
I am presently about half way through and the web of events is really astounding. Right now, at this portion of the book, if you have any discomfort with Muslim American men this book seems to exacerbate it -or at least try and play on a potential Islamophobic flame beginning to burn inside us.

I am enjoying this book but find that Emma seems more the character that I have grown to like. She was introduced in his first book and seems to play a major role...though the book is centered around DeMarco's character. I leave it to the reader to enjoy everything and Lawson seems to have a good grasp of what the reader wants and needs to feel that rush and joy with a touch of anxiety as the characters develop

Getting to the end. The only thing is there are sections of the book that have got me intrigued yet there are others that Morrell loses me. A "protector such as Cavanaugh" will/would have more "sense" about "bad" guys. He seems intuitive at times and other times he just seems so far out in left field -doing things that make no sense.
I will leave the evaluation of the experience to you and your personal background.

So far I find the writing and story telling "novice" and "dumb down".

I found the beginning a little unnerving and it wasn't my type of book. I haven't read Private Series in a while and the writing style was something I had to re-introduce myself to. Not sure I like it as much as the other writers in my book series. But once past the first part (yes, there are parts) things seem to settle down into the Private investigation techniques. That is the part that I have liked.
