Not that I'm trying to glamorize homelessness, because it does have its bad points, but to me the beauty is there were no pressures.

everybody will be long gone, to their sleeping spots, maybe the local library. It's a good location to get out of the cold, just grab a large size book, put your head down, and snooze. The staff won't bother you.

We hold on to certain values from our previous life, with the hope of being accepted back. But not me, I gave up.

Then, humbled and confused, and in a burst of utter Mexicanness, I knew that we were ruled by fate and that we would all drown in the storm, and I knew that only the cleverest, myself certainly not included, would stay afloat much longer.

I saw our struggles and dreams all tangled up in the same failure, and that failure was called joy.

Of course, we were afraid and fear isn't always a wise counsellor,

we were already blind the moment we turned blind, fear struck us blind, fear will keep us blind...

Which goes to show how relative memory is. Like a language we think we know, but we don't, that can stretch things or shrink them at will.

There's no ending!

Reading is pleasure and happiness to be alive or sadness to be alive and above all it's knowledge and questions.

In the quiet spaces opened up by the prolonged, undistracted reading of a book, people made up their own associations, drew their own inferences and analogies, fostered their own ideas. They thought deeply and read deeply.
