The only reason I'm reading this is for the sake of research pertaining to my job, which often includes readers' advisory. While I'm not too fond of the writing and I think things are a little too cliche and fast paced, I'm surprised that I'm not instantly disliking it. Knowing what ends up happening is kind of a "bomb under the table" which keeps me tense, so that's interesting.

Also, Alyssa deserves her own book.
