I hate this book (…..continues to rage read)

“Because I didn’t do it, and no one is listening to me.” - Adult Man Baby, Adam, who is THE LITERAL DUMBEST person on the planet/narcissist.

Adam is still dumb. Sarah is still dumb. This book has given me the confidence that I could realistically write a bestseller, because it is garbage. Garbage that I can’t stop reading, but still garbage.

And I quote “I’m not sure why she’s too busy to return a call to me…” UMMMM because she’s trying to fix your whole “being charged for murder” thing ADAM… MAYBE?!

Don’t worry she’s annoying too. And not in an Elle Woods, girl boss way….

Despite this, I’m FLYING through this book.

Genuinely wondering if this is one of those “you’re supposed to hate everyone” kinda books… Ask me WHY, go ahead!

Despite having the audiobook via Libby, I bought the actual book, because I DESPISE the narration so much, but ❤️ the book. The guy is AWFUL, it’s gives me the ICK. I hate it. Also, the narrator for Sarah… I don’t love one person doing “voices” but I do need some distinction, and there is nothing here. Same tone for every word, thankfully Jeneva frequently tells us who’s talking. Book 4/5 Audio 1/5

I’m literally walking around my house just going “oh nooooo….. oh noooooo”.
Now friends, is this literary brilliance? No. Am I LOVING every single second? You bet your muscular butt.

I ….. KNEW IT!!!!! And yet, I still love it. MORE PLEASE!!

Is Adrian Tchaikovsky a time traveler warning us of what’s to come?

I feel compelled to reread these 25 pages with a fresh brain first thing tomorrow morning.

I swear, if this book doesn’t match up to the feelings I’ve already acquired from just reading the dedication page, and the author’s note, I WILL BE DEVASTATED! I feel so seen, please let this one be good!

In many other ways besides this, I think it’s time to stop relying so heavily on ChatGPT for my book recs. What I’ve found is the books recommended are largely excellent UNTIL THE END. I’m really trying to finish this book. The thing is, it’s written by people who write books ABOUT people who write books, and it’s like OBVIOUS. We get it you write…. Send help.

Ok I’ll admit we’re almost at the end and I’m kinda like “wrap it up”. This book was fine, is fine. A firm three star (maybe even 2). I don’t hate the experience, but like there just wasn’t much. Maybe the final end will really wow me…. TBD

Again I worry that ChatGPT knows me better than I know myself. This book is one of its more persistent recommendations, so here we are. It’s honestly so good, I’m kind of obsessed, to the point where I want to start from the beginning, and just read to the end, but we’ll see. Anyway, the quote I’m here to mention is “Sorry to steal your dress, but you look nice.”

WAIT, WTF IS HAPPENING?!

I NEED you to know, that at the rate I’m highlighting this book, there’s going to be more pink (my highlight color of choice) than white page.
Boy, did this book find me just when I needed it to. This book, plus Dead Romantics, have convinced me (in the best way) my efforts are better served reading books vs writing them.

I don’t want to finish this book 😭

Just call me Florence Day. Ashley Poston, you get me, and I love you for it. I keep stopping, because I don’t want to read this book too quick. I realize I’m 5 seconds into it, but so far, it’s perfect.

Well, I think she has this—fear. That she’s incapable of love—not just of being loved, but of properly loving. So she behaves in ways that make her unloveable, see? When she’s rejected she’ll know why; she’ll still control her own fate.

What about this story feels so necessary to write?
Maybe because I’m trying to exorcise the worst parts of me. Once they’re out there, they’ll no longer be in here.

Otherwise I might never write another word. Who wants to read about bland, unconflicted people who simply love each other?
…Once this book is done, I can be whole again; we’ll be free to love each other fully and openly.

This book, gives me hope I could one day write a novel. It gives me whispers of Yellowface (and a little panic), but is holding it’s own for sure. I keep trying to put it down and can’t…. Sorry, family…

There is still time for the ending to disappoint me, but this is trending to be one of my favorite reads of the year, and will be added to the highly acclaimed “I’m buying it for the collection” category. I’m starting to think this is a self help book (written just for me) disguised as a superhero story. 👍🏻👍🏻
