The last couple of sections are quests good. They talk about the “bedrock” of what you believe and why that matters. Not just concerning the canyon, but your whole worldview.

This chapter also discusses adaptation and variation as the God/programmed way to adjust to new environments. These are still the creatures they are, they just look different.

This next section addresses the symbiotic relationships and cohabitation existing among the various plants and animals in the canyon, all interconnected and designed by our loving Creator.

I think I had the wrong idea when I started to read this book. I think I went into this thinking it would be an in-depth discussion of the geology of the canyon and it’s connection to Creation and the Flood. But really, I think this is supposed to be an overview of all the facets of the canyon and how they show God’s power, creation, and glory as well as how it’s geology connects to the flood, just in brief.

The two most powerful parts of this book are the images (you simply must have them for such a topic as the Grand Canyon) and the discussions in the geology. As with this section in the water, the powerful part is how the water shapes the geology. I also, describing actual experiences in the canyon is powerful as well. Still, the points tend to be repetitive rather than detailed and explanatory. I hoped for detail.

I suppose I’m wondering why the book is set up this way. This is atypical from most other books and articles published by the people involved with this one.

Continues discussion on fossils, beginning with the Cambrian layer. Continues with the nautiloid bed and how their fossils evidence rapid, catastrophic burial.
While there is some interesting information, none of the points seem fully fleshed out. I feel like there are many points with little cohesion between them, or at least, the books feels like a collection of brief statements with cool pictures but little more.

I’m disappointed in this next chapter. The section on fossils makes many assumptions of the assumptions of the reader and jumps from point to point. It’s like the writer is trying to fit a whole book worth of information into a few paragraphs with little connection between them. Also, I struggle to see the significant connection with the canyon in the manner in which this section is presented.

So the first section (1st it 2nd chapt?) is more of an overview of the canyon and the unique things different scientists have learned while being there.
The next section on the rocks of the canyon starts with exposing what the rocks teach us. Moves into history of geology. Includes a very neat timetable for the flood and geologic layers. Discuses radioisotope dating. Power through pictures. RATE. Flood evidence.

Speaking now on the history of secular geology and it’s faults. Talking about the geology of the canyon and how it’s features lend itself to rapid deposition and formation. Snelling’s section is well-done, as expected. He and Parker explain how science supports the biblical narrative.

Lots of quotes and pictures about the magnificence of the canyon and how the secular science is wrong, but I’m waiting to start actually talking about the canyon itself and the science to back up their claims.

They then provide a brief history before the flood by quoting large passages of Genesis, including the days of creation, the fall, and the flood.
Each section of the books seems to be written by a different person at varying lengths.
Next section describes the flood as a worldwide event and it’s significance.
A couple of brief quotes by scientist and creation apologists alongside beautiful images of the canyon.

The introduction has some very picturesque and dramatic language.
The layout leaves something to be desired.
The first chapter provides a background to creation science and a foundation in a biblical worldview and why that matters. Not very detailed and not the best explanation, but it’s a start.
