Pinkyivan is on page 32 of 312 of Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil
This has been the worst introduction I've ever read.
I know it is a Jewish book that also talks about Jews and Nazis, but to leave out almost all useful information that introductions usually provide (basic ideas, notable works, life and influence of experience, etc.) to just ramble on about how it made other Jews angery is pointless.
Anyone thinking about buying this, do not go for Penguin Classics.

Just reached the part on Aquinas and will take a short break from reading this. It's great, but information heavy and like all great philosophy, boring.

Not as good as I had hoped or expected.
Rhetoric more than philosophy.

If Burke is the father of modern conservatism, it is no wonder that it has been defeated in the cultural battle.

I have never felt so confused as to the goal of the book. It's a history of philosophy and the historical dialectic is going somewhere, but I can't place my finger where. Much harder than After Virtue.

After a very long speech the judge decided that building high ceilings in factories was in fact high treason and executed 8 engineers.

We can describe the totality of British foreign policy very simply- massive fucking cunts.
It turns out that selling out people to the communists to be executed, sent to prisons or camps or who knows what else was their policy in general, they've done it almost, it seems, when they had the chance.

It's actually incredibly funny, the tone Solženjicin ledns the book a feeling of both dread and humour, how absurd the whole USSR was in its totality, with cases such as 30000 Czech being sent to Gulags because they couldn't be sure there were no spies amongst them or how there was hunger in cities because there were too many traitors amongst the peasants so there weren't enough people left to grow the crops.
