I’m really enjoying this book a lot and finding the characters and unique take on Gods intriguing. Working on this one as a paper copy and it’s funny how spoiled I feel by my Kindle 😂

Okay, M.L. Wang may write some of the best prose in fantasy I’ve read in a long time. Chapter 27 was so amazingly written — character arcs being fully fleshed out, the tension palpable and had me on the edge of my seat. And so much to chew on and digest.

She has this ability to make these characters feel human; complex, multi-faceted and real.

This book is moving up star ratings in the second half of 😭

Well this one picked up some steam! I’m really enjoying that the slow burn was worth it. Interested to see where this goes next

Unfortunately we’re dragging a little, again. Retreading similar ground after the new dynamics of the plot have settled into a rhythm again. I’m going to see this one through, however.

Okay, we’re finally picking up the pace now in the last 50-ish pages! Interested to see how this wraps up but so far I’m glad I stuck with it.

This book is taking me a fair amount of time. I am enjoying it, however the lack of a steady plot makes it hard to be completely invested for long periods of time. instead, I find I am reading about 10 pages at a time.

Really interesting to read about Aegon the Conqueror and his establishment of Targaryens in Westeros. This reads like a history book, which is incredible considering how in depth this world is.

I'm so close to being done with the series and I can't believe it. I've been reading these books for about 6 months now and it's finally coming to an end. Character arcs are being closed one by one.

Really enjoying the deep characterizations in this one so far. Main characters who I've known for 6 books are becoming more complex and showing grit.

Reading these books has been a really great journey and I am thrilled to finally have reached a point in the books where "invincible" characters are not so invincible. Although there have been character deaths before, they are finally hitting much harder. There is something powerful about an author who is not afraid to send off a juggernaut character.

This is my first read through, and I must say at this point the pacing and character development is some of Rowling's best so far. Easily becoming my favorite in the series.
