Home stretch!

The same as the first time round, flying through this 500+ page tome...

SECOND READ. Been in a reading slump for weeks and weeks, so decided to pull this gem out again because I could use a feel-good read right now.

The first time I read this was in Aug. 2019. Little did we know what was coming around the corner...

Thrilled to learn Richard has continued to write three more books since this first one! Time to hunt those down as well...

I'm giving this 47 pages more to get more interesting and less cringey..

Been wanting to dig into this for a long time now, and I guess today was the day. I have a feeling this is going to be as good as the Ray Bradbury biography I read this time last year.

Took me three damn days just to get thru The Call of Cthulhu. It's frightening to be sure, but awfully dense and...well as difficult to get through as the gelatinous muck Cthulhu himself crawls out of.

Thankfully Shirley Jackson's Summer People is up next.

Hoo--wee! Four stories in, each one as creepy as the last. Can't wait to continue on...

Intriguing from the first page...

As a huge Historical Fiction fan, I am immediately intrigued and have enthusiastically jumped in the deep end, cannonball-style.

Unfortunately, it looks as though the author's note section was left out of the editing process, because there are several cringe-worthy errors I cannot forgive; the worst being the misspelling of Edgar Allan Poe, fellow Gothic Horror writer from this side of the pond, remember him?

A random distraction...I thought I had read Carmilla years ago, but now I'm not so sure...

It's so readable! Really enjoying this so far..
