This is 80% inaccurate propagandist screed & 20% legitimate history. I had high hopes and he dashed it quickly. I also love how he tries to justify the atrocities committed by the Sioux/Lakota & their allies by pointing to the Roman Coliseum & the Spanish Inquisition, but the Romans & Spaniards weren't raping captured women, then cutting off their breasts & vaginas to stuff in their mouths as they roasted them alive.

This book is bizarrely tedious. Ray's writing is deft, but it all feels too twee to be taken seriously and too earnest to be amusing.

...Aaaaaaand here's a stumbling block. I was having a hard enough time handling the abrupt transition from gothic-horror to standard superhero fare -- but then having him go from wandering mutated loner who's the focus of his own series to random yutz on a tedious typically-'70s superhero team? UGH.
