Made a lot of progress while stuck on the plane. Hated the chapter about SIDS and parents murdering babies. I could never deal with anything related to harming children. I admire those who can, because it's necessary.

Interesting, but not an easy read. It's a tough subject and you have to be in a certain frame of mind to get through it.

Aaaand nevermind. I'm with Magician Aviosky on this one. Ceony ought to be transferred to the lady Folder.

Ceony is so childlike and naive, it makes me very uncomfortable to think about a possible relationship between her and her mentor. He is in his 30s (as am I), while she is but a child. I can only hope that Emery remains professional, although he's already been far too touchy for comfort.

Ceony really is a bit of a brat. She views Langston's oatmeal breakfast with scorn, remarking that it looks overcooked. When you start judging oatmeal, of all things, to be overcooked, by sight alone, you have totally lost the plot. This kid is really something.

I just started this and am baffled by the enchanted bookmark given as a gift. You have to tell it the title of the book you're reading, then it tracks the pages for you, by displaying the number of the page. It's much faster to stick a bookmark between the pages of a book...

Slow going and I don't know why. It's not bad, but it's also not keeping me engaged. Perhaps the wrong genre for me right now.

I am trying to eat chocolate and read, but the book is making me cry so much, I can't even taste the chocolate.

Jane really is a "floppy-brained, hopeless idiot", as she describes herself. I don't like it when characters find life this hard. Just go with it!

This one has been on my Kindle for so long, I'm reading it out of embarrassment. I have heard good things, though. Let's see.

Wow, so far this is terrible. Imogen is so out of it, I expect her to be revealed as a time traveler from the 1600's any moment now. How could anyone so shortsighted and dim possibly be the editor in chief of anything? She is surrounded by talent, but instead of tapping into the knowledge and energy she's tapping out. Not buying any of this. Also, using a film point and shoot camera? What on earth?

I just saw the movie Everest. I want to know more about these people.

The problem with the protagonist in this story is that she is an idiot.

I don't know why I enjoy reading dog training manuals. I don't have a dog to train.

There are some serious discrepancies between original Mare and "red in the head" Mare. If her old life was so horrible and she is an opportunist (willing to lie, cheat and steal), isn't this the best possible outcome for her? Why all the griping? Girl, enjoy the food!

What Justineau does inside Rosie is so stupid and unbelievable that I am disappointed. The story has been great so far, but this was so out of character that it feels like forced drama.

Aargh, what is going to happen next?! So exciting!

Um, what is this I'm reading? Pretty disturbing weirdness, so far.

I'm really struggling to get into this one. It's my group's book of the month, so I will finish it, but I have to force myself to continue. I don't care about any of these characters.

"We savaged each other in desperate need, biting and clawing, trying to draw blood, trying each to pull the other into ourselves, tearing each other's flesh in the consuming desire to be one." Is this sexual relations or a dog fight?

"I bit his lip and tasted blood." Lol, this is horrible! I could be wrong, but I don't think spousal intercourse should leave both parties bloodied and bruised...

Wait, wtf is this?! Here is a sex scene between Claire and her husband and it is indistinguishable from rape. Can't tell if purposeful rape, or just bad storytelling.

Just about halfway and I'm honestly getting a bit fed up with Claire. Petty, stupid, jealous and petulant, I long to see some maturity from her. Now and then her thoughts reflect a glimmer of adulthood, but then we're back to her acting like a child.
