Michael is on page 31 of 320 of The Pursuit of Endurance: Harnessing the Record-Breaking Power of Strength and Resilience
Davis and her family were at my local library in early August promoting this book. Her short talk rekindled my interest in 'long trails.' With good humor Davis answered my PCT/AT comparison questions. Then her and the group met at a nearby NCT trailhead for an hour of hiking together and conversation. The book, so far, is interesting and well written.

Michael is on page 107 of 563 of 1491: New Revelations of the Americas Before Columbus
Information rich and well written. Clearly, the Americas were not unoccupied or sparsely populated at the time of the Plymouth Rock pilgrims. As an example, the Atlantic coast of North America was densely populated. Giovanni da Verrazzano, an Italian mariner-for-hire during the 1520s described, in writing, the 'People of First Light' "as beautiful of stature and build as I can possibly describe."
