Not really gripping, but has some interesting stories I haven't heard before about people and places of the 16th century. I appreciate this book for these gems of new info rather than anything remotely related to its title ..

It's frustrating that there is no actual geography and it's all selected parts of history. I intend to stick on and see how it goes as there are some interesting historical stories that I have long forgotten or haven't noticed in detail..

After Michel Danino's geography and detailed archaeological evidences against the Aryan invasion theory, this book's linking of geography to historical events is pretty congruent.

Finished reading this book. For a book written more than 200 years ago, it touches upon key social, scientific and philosophical ideas along with a simple story.

Can't let go.. but have to sleep.. :)
