I think I'm actually developing deep hatred for this book. If there continue to be flashbacks within flashbacks every other scene, I'm just going to move on to something else.

While Sammy still seems like he'd be cool to hang out with, it's kinda hard to feel sorry for him and all his troubles with his wife when he admits to sleeping with 75 women during his tour

Like everyone else already has said, this book could really benefit from a good editor.

Still, the story is enjoyable enough.

That said, I just reached the part of the book where timelines and characters start switching back and forth almost at random. Holy cow is it confusing...

This book is not what I expected. That's not to say I don't like it though! I do feel like I've been sitting in on what it's probably like to go through officer training in the military.

Heinlein loves him some adverbs

hahaha I'm listening to the audio book version and it's AWESOME. The narrator nails Lorenzo's smarmy dialogue, he reminds me of a more enjoyable Dr. Smith (from Lost in Space).

It's been a while since I've read a Heinlein novel and now I remember why I love him so much - what a talented author.

OoooOOOOoooo this book is getting pretty good. Honestly, I'm about sick of zombie stories but this book is different enough to keep me going. well-written at least.

Slow to start but picking up now.

This book is a roller coaster ride! Ishmael (or rather, Peter Brown) is a force to be reckoned with. I usually don't enjoy books that jump around via flashback often but it's done very well in this book so far.
