Getting really good, sad that I can't discuss with anyone!

This was a slow starter, didn't really get moving until about 30% in, but now it's getting more interesting.

"Castle Coeurlieu" by Naomi Novik - 2.5 stars - Didn't dislike it but didn't particularly like it either.
"Day One" by Jim Butcher - 4 stars - I love pretty much anything Dresden, and this story of Butters is fun and hilarious at times.
"The Thrill" by Brandon Sanderson - 4 stars - I heard Brandon read this at a book signing and it was both exciting and revealed something new about the Stormlight series. Lots of fun

Interesting story so far, but one of the worst audiobook narrators I have ever heard. I wouldn't mind the Slavic (Polish? Russian?) accent, but she reads in such a halting way, with unnatural pauses after every few words, it's incredibly distracting and hard to follow.

Listen to the sample here, if you're curious: http://www.audible.com/pd/Sci-Fi-Fant...

If there is a good thing about having limited shelf space (I have LOTS of shelf space but have decided enough is enough, I'm not adding any more), it's that when I get new books, as I frequently do, I'm forced to get rid of some that I either didn't like much, or, more likely, some books I bought years ago and am unlikely to ever actually read. Today, Dean Koontz gets the axe.

This book is SO SLOW. I was enjoying it for a while but the middle half is just dragging to a crawl. Feels like at least a third of this book could have been edited out.

This is not at all my kind of story, but it's pretty short so I may go ahead and finish it. So far I don't see what gets anyone excited though.

Parts of this were very creepy and disturbing to listen to while trying to fall back to sleep at 4am...
