Seriously? A 30-something acting like a love sick 12 year old without a brain cell? And so superficial?

Dragging. Narration is overly emotional and getting lost in details instead of going on with the story.
Actually reading other books in between as this does not "catch" me at all.
I will finish it - think I owe that to the author, even if I do not like it so far at all.

If the protagonist presents what psychologists in the U.S. are, I can only say, they would not pass their licence in Germany. Whiny, unprofessional, and way too emotional.

I don't like it. Finished the 2nd book - both with characters I could not stand, and barely tolerate, with teenage angst issues in adults (and that exaggerated on top - sorry for all the real teenagers out there), and whinging their way along, not willing to take any responsibility for their actions at all.
Maybe I am in the wrong age group for this stuff.

The 2nd book was a tiny bit better - at least there were some more dialogues. Still too much self pity and whining monologues going on.

ummm...quarter through book 1 - what's going on? Dark and more or less mysterious characters with dark hints to the past, it does not read as if I am at book 1 but landed somewhere in the middle of an ongoing story with no explanation on what's happening. Not impressed, hope it gets better.

too many footnotes, too many descriptions and narrations not necessary for the story, choice of words very good, of course, but simpler would have been better (ubiquitous instead of just something like "ever-present" or similar), no flow to the story (maybe because of all those unnecessary paragraphs?), dragging along,

Okay, finished the first book in this boxed set, enjoyable with a good mix of mystery, romance and danger. Don't like the triangle situation.

Finished the first book in this boxed set, and I must say, loved it. Maybe a few times where it'sa bit far-fetched, but on the whole, very likeable characters, and a good plot so far.

Ok the second book did not have that many logical glitches in the story, and fewer spelling errors.
Quite amusing.

Hmmm I suppose with all those sex scenes or dreams about sex or talks about sex etc., there was not really time to develop what I would call a proper plot, and give the characters some depth instead of mixing up several stereotypes.
Not a bad story, and on the positive side, lots of humour, so quite amusing to read nevertheless.

over half way through - boring in a way, too many side characters, not enough explanations. What exactly is this supposed to be - a suspense, a mystery, a crime story, a romance, what?

Second story was as fast-paced as the first one, with the known protagonists and some new ones. And the overall plot thickens....
