Adding this "complete 1-5" edition here and deleting the four individual ones I already read.
The five volumes make up a single story, with a fairly straightforward flow and a consistent group of characters - essentially the story of one family.
It does not makes sense to treat them as individual novels or novellas. If anything, it's a serialised novel, published not in The Strand but on Amazon.
