Just really really sloppy thinking. You almost feel sorry for the author. If his bias was any more evident, he'd be drummed out of the marketplace by his own supporters. Barker is a psuedo intellectual who has not come to terms with the fact that he actually does believe in God and is just a pissed off little kid throwing rocks at the dog he loves to hate.
