Just finished the two photo-essays:
1. Guns in the USA
2. Weapons and Grief, Weapons and Fear: Violence in Columbia, 1999-2000

Like Vollmann's drawings, his photographs are deceptively amateur. I think my first tendency is to pay only oblique attention, but stylistically I'm snobbish. However, the photos combined with the obsessive documentation of the photos still pulls me in. He is no Ansel Adams, yet...

Well, yesterday was the first day this year I didn't read a book-a-day. I was hoping to go 100 days in a row and did 70. Perhaps, I'll just call this my Spring Break and get back to it in a week or two.

Who knows? It was starting to stress my wife out a bit.
