Ch11: We like to think that we have complete control of our S2, but even our effortful analyses can be subject to priming effects such as anchoring. When asked to make numeric estimates of facts outside our knowledge base, we use a recent number as an anchor and adjust away from this number. Alternatively, we reject the anchor, accept an opposition and adjust towards the anchor. Problem: we don't adjust sufficiently.
