Really well done, but dense. I need an espresso, a quiet room, and 3 hours by daylight to process a chapter.

On pg 237 we're told that Tigers Game 2 starter Schoolboy Rowe's final strikeout sent the Detroit faithful into the streets to celebrate. But Rowe's final strike out of the game was the second out of the top of the final inning. Not only did he still have to record a third out, but the game was tied when he did so. (Detroit won in the bottom of the inning.) Why would the fans be leaving happy after that strikeout?

More issues. On pg 141, the author writes "according to then-current guidelines, Dean would have been credited with a 'save' and Hallahan... the win." 1) there was no such thing as a save in 1934. The statistic was created by Jerome Holtzman in the early 60s. 2) Hallahan pitched through the 6th, left with his team down 4-0. Dean took over and the Cards rallied to come back and win 5-4. That is a clear win for Dean.

The intro mentioned 1934 as being Babe Ruth's final season. It was not. (Should read his last season with the Yankees; he played a portion of the 1935 season with the Boston Braves, I believe.) Chapter 2 says the Cardinals beat the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1931 World Series. Since both teams are in the National League, that would be a neat trick. (Should read Philadelphia Athletics.)
