An enjoyable non-fiction with just enough "make-you-think" to be meaningful without being preachy.

This wasn't something I ever intended to read; however, I found myself pleasantly surprised. The story was engaging and enjoyable and the mystery element was well done. The tone and pacing were fantastic and I found myself having to be careful not to catch the accent ( I listened to this on audiobook, which made it extra hard).

*Happy nerd noises*

Oooff. This book was really excellent but boy oh boy does it hit hard. There are times I wish that the author had given us a reprieve; but this isn't that kind of book.

I should mention that this book could easily trigger some readers. It deals very blatantly and explicitly with drug use, self-abuse, graphic genocide/torture, and rape.

The heroine (?) is flawed and the author makes no apologies for that.

This is a book that I picked up because I happened to have a spare credit on Audible....... It has gotten better.... But I still regret.

While initially intrigued by the description of this book, I could not get past the frequent bolded words and overly simple explanations and language. I felt like I was reading far below my level. Someday I may pick it back up and read it with my children. Or I might pick up an adult copy that feels more mature. Either way this copy, at least for now, is being shelved.

I did not enjoy this one nearly as much as I enjoyed the Guards sequence.

It was okay. But to be frank, I got bored. So it's on my reserve shelf for now. I intend to return to it at sone later date when I am less distracted.

so far...its barely holding my attention and jumps a lot.
