Might be the most devastating book I've read. A little nauseating from the monstrosity of the event itself and the social tragedy afterward.

Phew. Painfully dated and feels very contemptuous toward any divergences from Faderman’s position on lesbianism; I don’t like her lens or how she takes examples out of context to push her strict definition of lesbianism (as opposed to female homosexual activity at large). Cherry picking this book for interesting bits and throwing salt at the rest.

I love when women take care of their 8th child, their husband, and are always reminded that his pain will always be superior to hers, and that he believes he’s entitled to her care taking and peace making forever. Raghhh.
