After looking it up, I initially thought the book came out before the movie. I was proven wrong, also by the lack of describing and detailing. I don't think that makes it a bad read but I wish there was more describing (i have not watched the movie yet)

I'm liking the book a lot so far, a book that actually got me hooked and been reading consistently which is rare for me. The main character (The author itself from what I've gathered) is very relatable in the whole "I don't understand human beings" as i myself struggle with understanding people and have a displeasure of trying to understand people. 9/10 im having trouble understanding it at times but not a big deal.
