This is such an enthralling fever dream

I was hooked by the events that happened and witnessing Jane progress as a character, but then it became a bit draining after her schooldays

It was slow for me at first transitioning from Dracula to this. The vocabulary is much more dense and the writing style here feels grounded in thoughts and emotions rather than a log of events.
After page 20 I became enveloped in Janes story, and especially loved her lashing out at Mrs Reed. I felt a huge amount of satisfaction.
