I don't want to drown in ocean math.

Between 1918 and 1920 combatants on all sides—White, Directory, Polish and Bolshevik—murdered at least 50,000 Jews in more than 1,300 pogroms across Ukraine, according to the most widely accepted studies, though some put the death toll as high as 200,000. Tens of thousands were injured and raped as well.

Chaos, if you followed your instincts and walked on a thin enough edge, could reveal the most unexpected and contradictory insights over time.

I guess we accept, or at least expect, horror in the darkness. Maybe the verbs should be reversed in that sentence, I’m not sure.
