PRAYED FOR TIMES LIKE THIS THE REAL LIGHT IS BACK

So far it’s really fun. The world-building done in 25 pages is lovely. It’s not introducing too many characters at once and we have plant talk. What more can a boy ask for?

I am starting to get the hype around King. First off, though it’s in third person her sort of adopts a character’s mindset per chapter and that’s really cool. I’m also a fan of his habit of jumping from scene to scene. It really helps everything play out like a movie in my mind and helps keep things organized. I think that’s also a good way of keeping someone’s attention

My first King book. I like his writing so far. He knows how to take his time and jump from scene to scene without making it confusing. And having seen the film, I’m glad it’s at least a little different so far. I’m having fun!

I’m genuinely pissed. Why did this take 228 pages to get good? Finally we are using the creatures again. Finally we have some survival action again that isn’t just “run from the man with a gun”. The writing seems to have improved too. I wish this was the vibe 200 pages ago.

Gosh I really want Misa’s adoration of Light to be an act… she was such a cool character before this. BUT I am glad to see L finally going after Light again, kinda.

It’s getting interesting again, finally. It was such a boring read for a while there. Like I can appreciate the dive into the psychology of people in this specific setting.. but when you make the setting so cool and hardly explore it I can’t help but feel bored and disappointed.
