the problem with bhishma imo is that he is so bound by duty that he doesn't see beyond it - even when he sees wrongs happening in front of him, he stays quiet in a bid to stay unbiased and ultimately all his lost opportunities to speak up lead to the war

what strikes me the most about this book is that she's 22 and I am 22 and when this case came out, I expected her to be so adult because I was only 15 then but she sounds young, afraid and unaware exactly how I would act in the same situation as a 22 year old - it somehow makes it worse
