Rest of this book is an appendix lmao and it was slow going due to the endless attempts to redirect you using QR codes with no context that incite FOMO. Edited really weirdly because the explanations on the site are the exact same copy pasted into the book. Still helpful.

#8 Battle Gains. Keeping the general theme of 'why don't people believe a dude who performs no miracles and who just claims to be transmitting a message from God' with the argument that the victory in battle was the proof they needed. He basically repeats a theme of 'who are we kidding nobody believes no matter what they see in the old or new testament'. The proof is in the pudding (not considered a stand alone sura)

#7 The Heights: Idiots call upon blind, deaf, dumb idols. People who refuse to see or who are fated not to see or who are seduced by evil. There is an end date that no one can outrun and this chapter refers to the heights that separate the garden and the fire. Mercy extends to the children of men -- accepting it or rejecting will result in justice. You must pay the piper or there is no justice and ultimately, mercy.

#6 Livestock: The name refers to people sacrificing animals to pagan entities. They also even sacrifice children. The logic of sacrificing an animal to a God who made them all is beautifully posited as stupid. It's just presented -- not even said. God has mercy for rule breaking. A God who knows all enjoys seeing our leaps of faith and belief (my interpretation) and we conversley put our faith in stupid alternatives.

#5 The Feast. Last of the law chapters. Important description of how and when and when not to do things such as washing before prayer, sourcing food, and saying grace. Mentions Christians are the best next ally one can have, that you can marry them, and that they're set too but mentions how Jesus probably never told people to worship him and Mary and the incompatibility of a trinity (i.e. Son) with Abrahamic faith.

#4 Women was about how a singular creator gave to Adam and Eve life, descendants, the unique gift of hope in exchange for belief, justice, and ultimately a path. The path is to listen to listen to the warnings and save yourself because that's all you harm otherwise. Companionship and children is a unique gift that the creator doesn't make use of but gives to us as a gift and so we need to be fair and reject evil.

#3 The Family of 'Imran deals with the power of faith even when it seems hopeless. The name belongs to the father of Mary and it references the angels letting them know about Jesus and his destined future. Jesus is compared to Adam in that they were created from the basic building blocks like dust. All men and women and prophets and current supposed gatekeepers to the creator share this and will be held to account.

Finished #2 The Cow (in reference to the Golden Calf / Bull or whatever the Israelites worshipped when Moses was away getting the Ten Commandments. Basically, try to love and serve appropriately and judiciously or it'll be as bad a deal net for you as if you were worshipping a golden idol. First time I read this chapter I basically stopped reading out of confusion but this version removes fluff and adds footnotes.

Marguarite loves her husband and tries to make him jealous. She's a loving person who is finally reciprocated by someone who she marries but who finds out that she had upper class people killed. She tries stabbing with words but it's no use. There is a separate aria scene from G's ball and G is the Foreign Secretary so he has to receive Chauvelin. The note scene is way smarter. Chauvelin released F and D on purpose.

So Suzanne and her brother and mother exist in the book and her brother is the young Comte de Tournai who pulls out a sword to duel Percy at the Fisherman's rest. The Comte de Cyr (Montford)was mom's cousin. Margaurite laughs that Percy is afraid to duel a boy and Percy orders drink because he 'made his wife laugh'. Armand hasn't seen her in years (first time since marriage) so now I get why the parting is emotional.
