Certain basics about human nature do not change. Man needs a certain moral sense of right and wrong. There is such a thing called evil, and it is not the result of being a victim of society. You are just an evil man, prone to do evil things, and you have to be stopped from doing them.[125]

Another story that reminds me of a Patrick McManust story. I think the author intended this to be comical. I am not sure though because of the way it was narrated in a mostly serious voice.

“Jody rolled the bones”

A group of soldiers getting used to their drill sargent. He is very strict and they don’t like him. Just as they start to like him he is transferred. What happens next I will leave to your imaginatom. Not my favorite but worth reading

“The best of everything”

The story of two people onnthe eve of their wedding. Their are signs that the wedding might not last.

First story “Jack o lantern”
This is about a new boy in class who may of may not be telling them the true story about who he is. Some parts are quite funny. I don’t quite understand why he did what he did in the end of the story. Weird.
