Why is it sooo sad 🥲

I really am enjoying this book but something about it seems muddy. Is there too much going on?

I love the premise of this book so far. Sometimes it seems like the author is reaching too far to show how all of these things are connected though. However the gollum with the dybuk box was a scary ass image

The baby death gives me the heebie jeebies, probably because Rory is so little. But other than that I am really enjoying this! I enjoy Winifred Nottie and her sarcasm, darkness, and aloof demeanor

I love the children and how they turned up. I’m interested in the cat and mouse game

I thought it was going to end predictably 😈

Ohhhh the impending dread is sinking in. Catherine is less whiney now that we find out that Hal used to beat Margaret and what Margaret’s childhood was like. Things from the house are slipping into the outside world. Where is Hal? Is he dead? Or did he kill Margaret and she is a part of the house and why things can affect her.

I am loving this so far. What happened to the husband?? Did the house eat him?! Is mom dead?? Why is the daughter a brat?!

Definitely spicy, but the constant talk about his sister before, after, and in between is a weird dynamic
